If a refund address field doesn't exist and a user sends a certain amount of money from a platform that only offers custodial wallets, there's a high chance that they'll lose everything [referring to those with randomized addresses].
my bad, i didn't explain it clearly in my post.

i didn't mean the refund should be automatically be sent back to the input address.
what i had in mind is more like how it worked on eXch. if the exchange fail, the fail page should give you a field to provide a refund address.

Even if a refund address field existed, there's still a small chance that someone suddenly loses access to that address and considering that it usually takes a few days between flagging a transaction and completing the refund process, it'd be better not to use automated systems.[/li][/list]
if the user is the one who provided the address, then it's the user responsibility if he loses access.
personally, i would prefer automated refunds if an exchange fails for any reason, i don't want to wait days or possibly even longer to get my money back.
