I won't pretend that I don't see these lapses too. Still, be clearof one thing, the merit sources are human beings, and anywhere human beings are given the responsibility and power, you will certainly see human nature playing out. Some don't care about what you write if you are not in their good book.
I think the desire to be a source of merit for many seems not quite balanced with how big a responsibility it is. Reading posts for days, and we must understand that reading should be attentive, skipping spam (a lot of spam and repeated posts), and choosing something useful is a rather boring activity. Looking for grains in a heap of chaff is not to say that it is a pleasant pastime. That is why many old merit sources, having had enough of empty and low-value posts, asked to write to them in private messages or created separate topics for evaluating user posts.
How much time does it take to keep up with everything?
The small power of owning merits, one way or another, brings its responsibilities. I think many of us would like merit sources to have an all-seeing eye and to look through posts across the entire forum, as was done before.
You can also check how long the ardor of the desire to be a source of merit will be in the newly elected ones so that the posts are really read, and the merits are distributed not only because they urgently need to be spent before the end of the month.
