In an interview with Boxing News, former Gennady Golovkin trainer Sanchez gave an honest assessment of Pacquiao’s shock return to the ring, claiming that although he is slightly concerned for the 46-year-old, he believes that he has a chance to defy the odds and defeat Barrios next month.

I guess we can’t really doubt him, especially since it’s coming from a trainer’s assessment, they definitely know better than most of us.

I’d love to see Pacman win, but I’m not as optimistic as I used to be. It’s hard to deny that his dominance in the ring has ended, and coming back at this age is something else. Still, it shows just how disciplined he is as a boxer to stay fit and confident enough to fight a young champion. That alone already makes him a winner in my eyes, and it’s no wonder he’s won the hearts of so many fans.

And it looks like the boxing scene is divided, there are some who says that he should stay retired for good, but there are also who think that he might be a good chance against the young Barrios as he is the weakest of the champion.

Again, lots of footage of Manny training with the young boxers like Magsayo and Marcial and yet Manny beat this young guys as Manny looks fresh despite running and then some sit ups and then shadow boxing. So Sanchez might be right on his honest assessment of Manny that he could defy Father Time with a big win here.
