In my opinion, there is a large discrepancy between the Meta board and other boards, in terms of merits.
Ofc the OP in this case made a good question and added an interesting voting system, in the right time. But 100+ merits for that topic is totally insane imo, outside of Meta board it is extremely hard to get 10 merit in a post, even if you are a computer science genius
My recommendation for BD User, if you want to get many merits, just keep using the Meta board. Historically, this is where merit sources spend most of their merits.
