Coming from a religion (Islam) in which most of us casually memorize a whole book (The Holy Quran) or at least half of it (since we recite it when we pray), memorizing a 24-word seed phrase isn't something "GREAT" or surprising for me. 
After all, a seed phrase is made of simple words and not random alphanumeric characters. If someone thinks memorizing the seed phrase can make things easier for them, they can go ahead and do it, it shouldn't take more than a couple of days for a smart person to memorize it, but as everyone has said it, it's totally unnecessary and there are better ways to store your seed phrase to keep it safe.
@OP, I know you've also backed up your seed phrase and that you've mentioned it in the post, I'm talking generally, though. So don't come back and say that I'm a retard or an idiot for saying what I said above.
