Even though you're right, sometimes, businesses do evil things like creating a negative image for the competitors to stay ahead of them in the business, but I think reputable businesses/platforms don't do such things but they focus on improving their own platform and services so that the competitors can't get near them, and that's how it should be.
If your business is already too good, you don't need to try and bring down other businesses only to shine.
It is fact and part of business competition but without solid proof to accuse any competitors, personally it's better to avoid using it at any cost. Just focus on your own business, build it up from products to security and customer supports, then if your company provides good products and customer care, it will receive more support from users and will be able to attract more new users.
Any false accusations will be gone with time and they won't harm your business while if there are valid accusations, a good business team must admit it and go to fix it as soon as possible. It satisfies customers, increases their belief in the team professionality and dedication to stay with a project for a long time. It is part of any business' reputation building progress.
