The user Symmetrick has been banned, so haters of this user can breathe a sigh of relief. So discussion of this issue has lost its relevance.

It seems to be an autoban for being PossiblyCompromised.

Anyone could instantly autoban themselves by setting a secret question and attempting to fill it in during login, though.

I'm guessing the ban just didn't show up in the modlog so BPIP didn't record it.
