Let's weigh the odds in fact, what other cryptocurrency aside from bitcoin and probably monero was created without a primary drive to make profit off investors?
Yep, just looking up Monero now and checking it's core features, I find out it's untraceability and unlinkability feature. More like full private approach and transactions involving it cannot be traced since it uses stealth addresses and ring signatures. Seems we've found another coin with a strong foundation after Bitcoin. I hope they maintain it for long and not give in to the government attacks on it.
Meanwhile Ripple isn't to be compared with Bitcoin, not ever.
Monero is for privacy, BTC - for stability and security.
