One of the many ways people still become victims of scam is through "Phishing".
Phishing is simply the use of fake websites, emails, malicious links and messages to trick People into revealing sensitive information or installing malwares on your devices and possibly drain your funds.
Bear in mind that scammers are not aliens, and they are not also always completely strangers because sometimes the people who we refer to as scammers or cybercriminals online are our friends and families offline. They are friends by day and scammers by night; they have dual identities. This is why you need to be cautious also of your friends and family about the links that they send to you so you do not hurriedly click on them thinking that they are all completely safe since they are coming from people you think you trust.
Even if our friends and families are not scammers, they might be used by these scammers by offering them too good to be true offers and requiring them to refer someone to their scheme. This is so rampant in a MLM industry that often make good relationships of relatives and friends broken.
So we should always be careful when participating in the MLM world, there are legit MLM businesses out there but most are Ponzi schemes that scam people of their investments.
When it comes to online scams, just be skeptical on everything especially when they are asking about our financial account information especially asking for username and password even if the person introduced himself as the company staff. There is always a reminder that no employee of any financial company will ask for our account password.
