I think I understand your friend's point of view. He fears that the West, or the United States and European countries in general, created gambling games with the aim of exploiting poor people. I think this is a common belief among a large portion of these people.
I don't know how you got this notion that Gambling was was invented by the West to exploit people. I'm not from or living in the West but here we have different types of gambling with some being localized. Gambling is an old something that have undergone various stages of transformation, just like every other innovation. Yes the casinos have advantage but that does not mean people don't win it else there will be no more gambling. Therefore it is not right to use the world exploitation for gambling.
I didn't come up with this idea, my friend. This is a common belief among poor people, especially in Africa, that white people invented many bad things to exploit them. This is an old belief, and it's not mine. I'm just explaining the idea this guy holds.
Read the topic again, and you'll see that this is what the OP's friend believed when he told him:
He quickly hissed and said, "Do I think that I can outsmart the white people who created this game?"
"Don't I know that they do this to milk us, and he doesn't gamble?"
I know that gambling has existed since ancient times and wasn't invented by white people, but there are people who hold such beliefs, and it's difficult to change them.
