Volatility is one of the factors of increased risk of investing in cryptocurrencies, and besides it there are many other different factors, such as non-regulation and, consequently, lack of investment protection, as well as unknown team members and vulnerability of smart contracts, which can lead to loss of money.
I don't deny that there is more risk in cryptocurrency investment becuase of the decentralized system where the govegovernment couldn't regulate but in my personal opinion that we have to also agree with this that there is regulation in stock market investments sources that doesn't means it will guarantee of your protection. Becuase even the stock market companies are under the regulation, there is lots of scam incidents in stock market You could found some by searching in Google Enron(around $60billion) in 2001, Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme( $65 billion) in 2008, Wirecard 2 billion etc.
So I think for both sides, if the investment is not done through the right channels, there is a possibility of huge losses.
