I don't think the water there is dirty, after all it's flowing water but swimming in a river can be dangerous. We can't know that better than he does, it's not right to judge just based on one photo. Many people prefer the sea or natural waters over swimming pools. I also swim in the sea and swimming against the waves requires extra effort, which makes it more beneficial in terms of fitness.

I agree with you but one thing is, the river can be dangerous for only those who are not good in swimming let's put aside things that can harm the person like one of the member said but if you can't control the force of the river as it's flowing it can flush the person swimming to somewhere different which can drown the person.
About the river not being clean, we can never say if is clean or not from what we are seeing but let's accept it that some rivers have the same look both on pictures and when you're standing close to it but they are clean, that's nature...it has a way of making things look different until you make use of it you can never tell if is this or that.
