ChatGPT can give you links if you ask for them and sometimes gives them to you without asking.
When was your last time tried ChatGPT? These days, they offer feature called "web search" that can give reference link.
I decided to ask the question directly on the ChatGPT and it states that I have to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus or Pro before I can be able to make use of web search.
I rarely use the tool. I was even using it without registering until we get into this conversation. So I deided to register just now but I saw only the share feature which is not what we are talking about
I can never subscribe because it is of no use for me. The subscription requires paying money monthly.
I wonder if there are difference or restriction by country, region or other factor. OpenAI website clearly state it's available for free.
Update on February 5, 2025: ChatGPT search is now available to everyone in regions where ChatGPT is available. No signup required.
I just tried it and it works, even without account. Here's the proof.
