You weren't clear in your overall statement here, especially the one I snipped. But one thing that is sure is that all these means have been tested and trusted as hedges against inflation. And you might as well diversify to be on the safer side.

There is little the government can do when inflation bites, many of these are beyond their immediate control. And I hope you are referring to a good country where the government is responsible and the economy follows the true principles of economics. Unlike in my country where inflation is now at the rooftop, but the government is powerless about it.

To avoid it biting more than necessary, you should create an asset pile rather than keeping your money in the bank.
