No one should judge Amorim on the poor performance of United this past season because it's not new and we have seen them perform poorly before Amorim took over the coaching job from Ten Hag. Amorim believes that he can fix the club which was why he left Sporting down to United. Look at the set of players that Ten Hag bought recently, before he got fired, they didn't contribute anything to improve the team's performance and currently, United is offloading them. If you have weak players, no matter how good and professional you are as a coach, your season would be fuitfuless.
It is still early to actually blame Amorim or call him a failure, it is not yet one year into his tenure at the club, he needs to build his own team because it doesn’t look like the current players are actually capable of playing his pattern of football. Also he had clearly said that he isn’t changing his pattern for any reason and instead of him dropping his pattern he would rather quit the job rather. Many of Manchester United United fans are now calling him a rigid player. Personally I don’t blame him, Manchester United actually saw how he was playing before signing him, what should he change into something he isn’t familiar with?
I could remember Erik Ten Hag facing same problem and when he change we didn’t understand his team again which was the reason why his first season at the club was much better than the following seasons. I think the board contributed to the failure this season, because I don’t understand why they actually appointed Ruben Amorim and couldn’t back him in his first transfer window this January, that shows they weren’t serious about rebuilding immediately unlike Manchester City
