Everyone expected PSG to win the final, but there was little thought of Inter Milan winning after they eliminated Barcelona. Many people believed the final would be different because Inter Milan had eliminated Barcelona, so it would be a difficult game for PSG to win, and surprisingly, PSG won and humiliated Inter Milan as if they were playing a preseason match. Inter Milan did not pose any threat to PSG, and they were lucky to beat Barcelona to make it to the final.
However, PSG players seemed to not feel like they played in a Champions League final because it was easy to win, we did not see a Champions League final where every team struggled until the final whistle before we could decide the Champions League winner, but we knew from the first half of the game against Inter that PSG would win the trophy because Inter only had one shot on target in the first half, they no longer deserve to be in a Champions League final.
The way the final turned out is a pure sign of how the pecking order in football can change when a club gets its act together. Of course, Inter eliminated Barcelona, but that is the magic (or madness) of knockouts. There is sometimes an illusion of real dominance after one tough win. Looking at PSG, this was not a case of individual magic or lucky run, the team has been rebuilt since Mbappe left and now it operates like a machine
PSG didn't simply win. They beat Inter easily since they play as a unit. The loss of Mbappe was one thought to destroy the club but it instead made the club stop relying on one star and play as a team. The final revealed the difference in the tactical level: the mobility of PSG, how they pressed Inter and how each of the players seem to be completely focused, that is not something you can fake in a final
It did look like a preseason game, but that is because PSG have become so good that the system does the work, not the players. The manner in which they dominated everything (even without their best scorer) indicates that they aren't just out to win a one-off game. Sometimes, when a club has finally gotten it right, these finals are not a contest, they're a statement. This was one of those times
I don't support any team but i love football regardless, the important thing is that it's a team game
Even though i support the team that suffered the worst humiliation in its history in the history of the Champions League finals, i can only say that PSG is strong and has demonstrated it amply
we have to be sporty
