I have seen this update related to Nunez recently. I didn't know the price tag for him thanks for that. Liverpool bought him for like €85m. Now they are desperately accepting a fee like €50m. But they have no other choice because nobody would like to pay more.
I think it has been decided Slot and Liverpool do not want him therefore Nunez will be sold this summer. I doubt Liverpool will send him out on loan, they would want a cash deal and there not that many European clubs that will be willing to take a chance on him even though Liverpool are willing to lose €35 million in order to get rid of him.
Not related, but if Chelsea Abramovich had an English passport, they would not have been able to get him out so easy. We may not like the Daniel Levy model, but he is ruthless and wants the club to succeed (4 managers in 5 years?), which is what I admire about him. Sometimes we the fans are the problem.
As far as Levy is concerned, you have a point about the way he runs the club but somewhere along the line he will need to spend big money to get the players Frank wants in order to build his team. If Levy does not do that, I guess he will not last too long.
