it's like that old quote
hard work beats talent when talent don't work hard
but at the end of the day we have good days and bad days
a really skilled player could have a really bad day (let's say he walked below some stairs before going to play or saw a black cat) and end up losing it all even if he plays skillfully
we shouldn't ignore luck, it exists, we just shouldn't base our future on the dice rolls, better to trust our skills
We should not ignore luck, and yet we cannot rely on it too.
I know some skilled gamblers who could really make things happen, especially in skill-based games like poker. Sure, he does need luck to get a good hand, but even a bad hand can be used as long as you are skilled and know what you are doing. Bluffs can happen in that game, and even the worst hand can win a game if performed well.
The same goes for sports betting. It just needs a bit of luck sometimes, but most of the time it requires analysis to increase the chance of winning. Luck is sometimes overrated to the extent that we only lean on it. If it's a system-based game where the house always wins, we cannot expect to receive a win in a short span of time or maybe never.
