I dont think we should a term like "near-miss" in gambling because it is a loss in simple terms. You dont get a consolation prize for having "nearly missed" you have lost your wager.

If you were playing the soccer match, then things would be different and near missed can be justified but because you are gambling on the outcome, it is either win or lose the bet.

So take as losses, and add them to the loss list that will help you understand that your luck is what matters in the end.

You have a point though, a loss is a loss...But if you haven't experienced something like this then you can't understand the pain that comes with it. It's quite normal to combine a lot of games and at the end of the day have a cut one especially when the potential win is a huge amount of money..this is definitely going to sting for a while anytime you think about how to you were close to making a large amount of money, we can't erase near misses from gambling

That's why I like to take cash out, I believe that their always comes up cash out offer from most bookmakers when you bet on a parlay and most of the game is already successful. The reason why some people do not accept cash out is because they are overconfident that the game  will work in their favour but at the end If they loss the bet, they lost everything, both the cash out and the money they staked with.  I prefer to take cash out and restake on the last few games.

Overconfidence and greed is the reason why a lot of people lose significant amounts of money they would have probably cashed out from a parlay game. A lot of times I don't wait till the the game plays out completely as long as I'm in Profit I'd cashout without hesitating. A lot of bettors need to understand that it's not about waiting to get the complete potential profit that makes it a win, cashing out is also a win
