I'm seeing dump Chelsea fans faulting Nicholas Jackson when they should be faulting tue manager Enzo Maresca. How can he experiment with such a game? Sharing points would've have been a better idea in my opinion. Congratulations to Flamengo, not just them but also the Brazilians topping their various groups. Felipe the manager of Flamengo had a defensive shape similar to that of Atletico Madrid. I see he is copying and learning from his former side.
Why should Enzo be blamed? If it's because he removed Delap and put in Jackson, then I agree with you, if not, he did every other thing right. Observe the way the Flamingo team were playing, you'd notice that they rarely hurried themselves when they were with the ball, rather preferring to make sure every move counted but Chelsea were all gas, no much brakes.
It was easy for Chelsea to make mistakes because not only did these guys show a form of superiority, they also displayed confidence despite being a goal down.
It was so sad that Jackson only lasted a total of four minutes before he got sent off for making a very annoying challenge which to me was so unnecessary because it was clear that no matter how he struggled for the ball, he'd be overpowered since two men were already rushing for the ball. This act by him is showing that he's really unstable and now that Liam Delap has arrived, I feel he'd get less action if he doesn't work on himself in the coming season.
