Clone scam sites are nowadays incredibly common and a "small detail" like .cc vs .io make all the difference (in some cases it's even smaller, e.g. use of a ċ instead of c!).
Of course, the clone sites will steal your money, your credentials, depending on what kind of site you entered.

This being said, try harder to either memorize the websites of interest (since most have well chosen names and domains) either bookmark them. Relying on search engine is the recipe for disaster.
