When Inter Milan defeated Barcelona in the semi-finals to secure a place in the final, we had a clearer idea that Inter Milan might be on their way to winning the Champions League title after a long time, but we never imagined that Inter Milan would be so helpless in the final against PSG. Despite being behind before the PSG match, Inter Milan managed to score five goals in the final against Inter Milan, while Inter Milan could not score a single goal against PSG.
This defeat will probably go down in the history of the Champions League as a shameful defeat, and PSG will remember their performance for a long time. Seeing Inter Milan's performance in the final, I thought for a while that if PSG's opponent in the final had been Barcelona instead of Inter Milan, the competition would have been even tougher.
Honestly, i was quite surprised to see the ability of the PSG players in the final, thinking the match would be fierce between the two teams, but instead it turned into a moment of carnage, Inter Milan appeared helpless, the attack and defense seemed to be silent and could not do anything, of course this was very disappointing for Inter Milan fans, who had previously celebrated the victory against Barcelona in the semifinals, this was the hardest blow they received, a moment that will not be forgotten.
It was really a moment of carnage, we all thought we will witness another special edition given the way inter Milan played Barcelona, how intrigued that game helped built into our psyche that world was going to witness another a great UEFA champions league finals.
Inter Milan would have just allowed Barca to play that final, because am rather seeing it that Barcelona would have given PSG touch time even more than what inter did. The literally had no defense and midfield for that game, it was as if any of the moment PSG had the ball was always a threat for goal. Personally I was disappointed with inters performance, arsenal even did a better job while paying PSG in the semi-finals.
