People always talk about how not going to the university does not necessarily mean that things are over. But going to school or university still has some benefits. But what college programs end up becoming most profitable these days? Some may say medicine. I do not think so. It is expensive to become a doctor and you might just end up paying your debts a few years after you graduated.
I say information technology or Computer Science. Very in demand and if we look at the world now, we are in the digital era and they are the ones needed the most. Engineering as well is profitable and always in demand wherever you are. Obviously you should pick a program where you excel at and you will be happy at but a factor of choosing a degree to study is how rich it can make you. I guess I am talking about the degrees with biggest ROIs these days.
What else are profitable programs?
I hate it when people become doctors just because they were pushed by their ignorant parents or because their goal is to become wealthy. We do not need more of such dangerous, greedy, incompetent "doctors" in this world. We need doctors who have a passion for learning medicine and saving lives.
If your goal is to become rich then why go to college? You can become rich without going to college.
Just go for an apprenticeship and then open your own business, hire people and make the really big bucks. Underwater welding is where the big money is, for example. Everybody and their grandmother thinks they will be given an amazing high paying job after college, as if it's their right. And studying computer science is unnecessary if you want to just make apps or something. You can take a free programming course online.
