Wow that's really nice, but Real Oviedo story isn't complete without these periods without Santi Carzorla. After that injury, he went back to his boyhood club but it seems as though they were going bankrupt or in debt I'm not sure which one again but he actually helped the club by donating his personal funds to keep he club at float. He even opted to play for the club for free because of the financial difficulty, that's what I call sacrifice. But his been paid little percentage of money according to what I read and his earning around 93k a year, you can imagine that amount. That's basically players weekly wage.
Santi Cazorla's aim is not to make money anyway. He wanted to take Oviedo, which he came from the youth academy and entered world football, to La Liga and he succeeded. Despite losing in the first leg of the final, they made a great comeback and are now in La Liga. The biggest share of this is thanks to veteran footballer Santi Cazorla. He is a player who has made great contributions to the team in every sense and has made many sacrifices for the team. Every team wants to see such a player in difficult times.
Yeah, I know his motive was never to make money off the Real Oviedo if not he would never have helped them with the sacrifices his made and still he wouldn't have played almost for free for them. Before joining them in 2023, his had 10 surgeries if I'm not mistaken, this alone would have made him to retire but I think he really wanted to help and after 24 years out of Spanish top flight league they are finally back after a memorable playoff game that saw them win after extra time.
