I think when we are talking about beating the casino in this context it means being profitable in the long run... it's possible to win out of luck one or two times, you witnessed people hitting the jackpot, this is very normal but It rarely happens...The problem with this is that you can't win constantly if you are a regular player, the people you witnessed winning huge amounts are bound to lose more than that if they continue gambling that's just how the game works
"Beat the Dealer" is one of the most popular books among gamblers who like a strategic approach to gambling. This book is written by someone who once found a gambling strategy that beats the casino/dealer by using card counting techniques in blackjack. I have never read a single page of the book, but my quick google search led me to find the book. His name is Edward O. Thorp who is also known as the father of card counting.
