As for Arsenal's goals, for many years they were happy with Dortmund's model of "buy a rising star and sell him for twice as much in a year or two", but now their management is seriously aiming to achieve at least some kind of title. I wonder if Arsenal don't win anything again next season, will Arteta be under threat? But against the backdrop of many other young coaches who have come in and produced results in their first season, his achievements already look questionable. If you were the club's management, it would be logical to assume that the obstacle could be not only in the players but also in the coach.
Arteta may need to win some silverware next season if he wants to keep his Job secure. I think the Arsenal folks have been patient enough, and that patience may wear out soon. The only consolation they had last season was beating Real Madrid in the UCL and qualifying for the next round. That may not be enough next season.
You would think that after spending that much money, they would be having a few trophies to show but no.
I have the same thought, the club top brass, management and Arsenal fans will run out of patience if Arteta continues to fail to deliver trophies. Beating Madrid in the Champions League, and finishing second in the Premier League standings again is nothing to be proud of, it's not enough considering the amount of budget they have spent to build squad depth. If Arteta still fails to deliver trophies next season, and the club top brass still retain him as manager, I don't think anyone understands what they expect.
Meanwhile, to increase Arsenal bargaining power in the competition, and to bring them one step closer to winning trophies, Arteta certainly still needs additional energy to strengthen his squad. We know Arteta really needs a number 9 player, a pure striker who can consistently score goals in every match. If Arteta manages to get a quality striker in this transfer window, maybe they will be successful next season, even though we understand how tight the competition is in the Premier League.
