What's going to happen if ppl marry based on love & attraction they'll have a happy life until money's the reason it becomes hard. If ppl want to get married they've got to discuss their finances before it's official.
That joke hits hard because there’s a lot of truth in it and the person you pick to build a life with actually does effect more than just your emotions, it affects your financial stability and future too. A helpful and financially aware spouse can help you grow and build together but the wrong one can pull everything down. People typically neglect this portion when talking about money decisions but it’s actually one of the largest ones you’ll ever make
Brutal, but true. I think most marriages right now happen purely based on the attraction two young people have towards each other without really understanding each other at all. It's important to understand the expectation of each other from the marriage and as you said, the finance part too. I'm pretty sure if people just spend more time understanding even just other's behavior and expectations only, the success rate of marriage will jump insanely.

But of course when you fall in love, finances and long term goals come last. In that moment you just want to marry the other person which is kind of an attempt to secure the relationship before someone steals it from you Cheesy. Some really great insights and opinions in this thread, but then we look into our lives and I'm sure more than 50% of us don't follow it.
