Before, we used to say this: "we're in it for the tech, for blockchain technology". Nowadays, I don't think that most people who are getting into Bitcoin will say the same thing. It's mostly about it being a store of value, an asset, an investment because of the value of it keeps on growing.
Most people are into Bitcoin not because it is a store of value but rather it is a good form of investment since people who bought Bitcoin are ready to sell their stash the moment they see profit. That said, Bitcoin is made for profit generation and not as a store of value. Only a few use it that way.
