Darwin Nunez has given the green light to join Napoli as Conte wants a striker like him, will this happen?
Nunez is a good player but Liverpool want a lot of money for him. If Napoli is going to spend Osimhen's money in this way, it doesn't make much sense. Last season Nunez fell far short of expectations. He should have scored more goals and did more assists. Otherwise nobody will pay this kind of astronomical transfer fees. I think Napoli should move to a better striker candidate. If they want to go higher in the European cups, they should do that. If you spend so much money and you end up with a player who only scores 5-10 goals in 40 games, then he is not living up to expectations.
The hype on Darwin Nunez before Liverpool signed him from Benfica is much, and a lot of Premier League fans not only Liverpool fans expected a lot from him, he performed below our expectations in his first season and continue like that which clearly show that he is not capable of scoring more goals in the Premier League because even strikers below his standards are scoring more goals than him that is why Liverpool management are considering selling him to get a reliable striker in order to defend their premier league championship.
Napoli can sign him because he can be a good striker in the Serie A, although they still have Lukaku, but he is old and can’t perform to his standard again, therefore if they can have Nunez to be a backup, it will be good for the team.
Napoli might also be waiting for Osimhen to be sold before they proceed with the proposal. They can still pay before selling Osimhen but going for another striker means they can’t keep Osimhen.
