Both coins comply with what they initially offer to their users, though I am most inclined to Dogecoin than using Litecoin because I don't usually hold or like to invest in memecoins. When comes to doing some small payments with little fees both can be good.
There is something which catches my attention on Litecoin though, even though their supply is limited and transactions are fast and cheap, it continues to underperform during bullruns, when compared to coins like Dogecoin. It seems Dogecoin is a better investment in the long term for those who are willing to give memecoins a chance.
Litecoin is better than Dogecoin as a long-term investment due to its finite supply of 84m coins. For some reason, most people haven't realized this yet. I guess it has to do with poor marketing/PR efforts from the dev team. Institutional investors seem to be getting interested in LTC, though. Especially when there are rumors a Litecoin spot ETF will be launching soon. Dogecoin may be faster and cheaper to use than Litecoin, but it's speculative by design. Not to mention, DOGE is a "hyperinflated" cryptocurrency. This adds many unecessary risks to long-term holders.
In my opinion, Dogecoin resembles Copper in every way. LTC is more akin to Silver, due to its economic traits. It's no wonder it's often called "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". One of the few old coins that have truly stood the test of time. Suprisingly, LTC is listed on almost every crypto exchange. Who knows? Maybe Litecoin will surprise us in the future. Just buy, "hodl", and don't sell until the market turns bullish again.
