All matches in Group B are now concluded. PSG and Botafogo are through, and Atletico and Seattle are out.
You cannot not feel sorry for Atletico. They did what they could and defeated Botafogo 1-0 today, but it wasn't enough and they will be dropping out because of the goal difference. It's a shame, but that's just the way it is.
After unexpectedly losing to Botafogo in the second match, PSG's today's performance was a bit of a question mark, but they didn't have any problems winning against Seattle (2-0) and controlled the game throughout.
One thing that surprised me was when Atletico Madrid lost so easily against PSG. Yes, I know that PSG is very strong and is also the champion in the Champions League. but at that time I hoped that Atletico Madrid would put up resistance and also get at least 1 goal back. But instead they lost by a big score even with minimal possession of the ball and even lost 1 player due to a red card. Then in the second and third matches Atletico Madrid actually managed to win. But well, Atletico Madrid didn't manage to score many goals which meant they ultimately failed to qualify for the last 16 due to goal difference. All of this happened because Atletico Madrid conceded 4 goals in the first match. So Atletico Madrid's goal points remain minus. So yeah, congratulations to Botafogo and PSG for making it through to the round of 16.
Regarding PSG, I have no doubt that they will be able to fight even better in the round of 16. Against Inter Miami it might not be easy but I believe PSG is still superior to Inter Miami.
