3 ways Nigeria can be affected by the Iran and Israel conflict

* The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel, which intensifies considerably in June 2025,may have dire consequences ,for Nigeria given it's reliance on oil export, social economics dynamics.
Here are five ways
Base on current evidence and analysis

(1) Safety concerns for Nigerians in conflict zone

Nigerias risiding in Israel and Iran notebly student and experts in Tell Aviv  and Tehran, are on a severe risk as a results of missiles and Air strikes

According to report Nigerias over their are sicking for refuge in subterranean bunkers  ,while commercial and social activities has been interrupted

The Nigerian government is arranging /organizing evacuation but it has face criticism to being slower to respond than nations such as united states and China ,ensuring the safety and returns is an urgent issue to handle.

(2) Potential for domestic sectarian tension
     Nigerias diverse to religious landscape
With significant Muslim and Christianity ,pupolation makes it sensitive to middle eastern conflicts

The Israel and Iran conflicts could imflam sectarian sentiment ,as both communities hold strong views on middle eastern issues

Irans effort to spray shiism in nigerias associated in figures with imam Zakzaky could exabate tensions, particularly if local groups align either side.

(3)Oil prices volatility and economic implications
The ongoing conflict has disrupted ongoing markets causing oil prices to rise due to worries of supplies interruptions , particularly if Iran's oil facilities or vital shipping routes,Such strait of Hormuz are compromised.

Nigeria, African's largest oil producer ,stand to benefit from increased oil revenue ,
Which would enhance  it's foreign reserve and support government budgets

However this may lead to increase in domestic fuel prices
As petrol is currently above #900 ($0.58)per litre

Higher fuel price might exacerbate  inflation , increase in transportation and industrial costs
And raise Nigerian cost of living to be more expensive their be offsetting fiscal benefits
