However, looking at this season's performance, it certainly reminds me of the past when the PSG team could not perform well despite having many experienced players including Neymar, Messi and Mbappe.
With Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, PSG had strong attacking system but they also had internal conflicts among those star players. There was another bigger issue, imbalance between attack and defense as all three attacking players did not contribute too much on their proactive defense. It made PSG easily win against weak and average teams but when they faced with strong opponents, this weakness beat them down easily too.
Enrique has shown that he can prepare young players and they will match the high level of the team, so do not underestimate the players that are currently in the team. The current roster and bench were enough to win all the tournaments they participated in last season, if this is not enough now, I am sure that they will be able to afford to strengthen any position, they have enough money. But Enrique has already shown that he is not a supporter of large transfers, and acts only when necessary.
Enrique shows his ability in both Barcelona, Spanish national team and PSG with many young players. His success with Barcelona that had many star players like Messi, Suarez, Neymar and more while in Spanish national team, he managed them well with many young and unknown players like Pedri, Olmo (I recall that Olmo in Euro 2020 was an unknown player) and some others.
In PSG, from their club strategic changes to Enrique's management, together have contributed to their club success with a first title ever in UEFA Champions League. I also believe that they won't stop there but will continue their good competitiveness in Champions League next several seasons.
