I will voice a different view on the reasons for the interest of young people in the bitcoin. This is not at all connected with the technological component (although this is partly true), but with the desire to get easy money. In the modern advertised world of luxury goods and wealth, young people don't want to "long and hard" earn wealth on their own through their own labor. Modern youth is spoiled by the illusion of "easy access" to money thanks to the Internet, social networks, cinema and others. Therefore, most of them, not having useful and valuable skills and abilities, but "laziness and greed" are looking for easy ways to get rich. This path can be gambling, for example, but also investing in modern types of assets, such as bitcoin. Therefore, I associate the great popularity of bitcoin among young people with this.
I agree with you. And culture plays a big role over the behavior of the current generation. Since an early age they were taught to have plenty of rights, while duties weren't imposed to them by the previous generations which raised them.
Partially, it's fault of the previous generations who tried to make things "fairer" for the current generation, in an attempt to protect them from passing for the same difficulties, punishments and traumas the Generations X and boomers have faced on their early days. In the end, they just spoiled the young generation. It's quite concerning that in some decades the world will be on the hands of these individuals...
They will be the doctors at medical centers, the engineers drawing and developing the high buildings and the law makers. Personally, I feel uncomfortable about it, as every services I have access to where there are many young people working, without supervision of a more experienced manager, looks chaotic and delivers poor quality. Immediacy, low tolerance to frustration and egocentrism have been main characteristics of Generation Z.
