Kid,
Messi set standards that can only be measured by his standards. It sounds stupid, but how could anyone argue against it. He scored over 90 goals in one year. If someone else does it, there you go.
Messi was a player once in a lifetime. He scored like far more than one goal per game. Ronaldo couldn't do it in La Liga, or I think he did, but in the race for most important goals, Ronaldo loses.
I hope there will be a player to fill his place.
Where this Messi argument comes, not everyone will be matured enough to scroll pass. Messi was not alone in his generation. You can't mention Messi as if he only dominated and classified Ronaldo as failed.
If I may ask, does football end only in Laliga?
Apart from Laliga and Barcelona, does Messi have any astonishing records with any other clubs?
Why talk down on Ronaldo who conquered EPL, went to Laliga, met Messi and fought him squarely, left him there and went to Italy and set records. Please be considerate in your analysis.
As far as I know, Messi won the Copa America and the World Cup. Several times the CL and when he played for PSG, his statistics were still impressive. In 58 Ligue 1 games he scored 22 goals and gave 31 assists, which is about 1 goal contribution per game. But apart from the fact that he didn't win the CL with PSG, he never stopped being brilliant. Of course if he is compared to his younger self at age 25, nobody who is approaching 40 years of age will be as good or superior compared to age 25.
Ronaldo can't win titles with Al Nassr either and you said he conquered the EPL, which is true. But when he played in the EPL for the second time, everyone knows how that ended. It's fine though and I never argued that Ronaldo failed. If I said that, please put it in quotes and I will correct it, but if I read my statement, I can't see where I said that Ronaldo failed because he actually didn't.
