- Which companies do you think will buy the Bitcoin in the future?
I'm hoping for apple and google to at least buy some small portion to it. If they did, it's gonna be a huge noise and could be another trend that will lead to upward and make another new bottom. Of course, we should hope that these major companies that also lead the technology should be part of it. Imagine how much fomo it'll occur once major companies like them join the hype of bitcoin and invest to the future of it. Their involvement would bring massive security and legitimacy to the space and possibly push more countries or other institutions to join. It could even influence governments to take a more positive stance toward crypto and if that happens, we might see Bitcoin adoption reach a level nobody expected this early.
The Apple-Google-Bitcoin fantasy is the subject of late-night debate. However, these giants already owned such assets that to them, Bitcoin seems to be their side project if they ever wanted it. The true strength of Apple is not in cash or Bitcoin, it is the ecosystem: the hardware/software lock-in, the walled gardens of customer loyalty. Google? Their "coins" are your data, your queries, their LLMs, their domination over the very digital experience. Bitcoin is disruptive, yet these companies are the designers of the current machine
Would Apple or Google buy Bitcoin? Yeah, it would give the news cycle a boost. Price would jump. Everybody would rush to a new "bottom". But why would they? The level of control they have at present (regulatory insulation, network effects, algorithmic power) is so much greater than what holding Bitcoin gives you. Bitcoin is free tech. Apple and Google are control tech. Do not suppose that those worlds want to merge when their business models are antigravity
Nevertheless, I am not killing your dream. When they buy, the signal is fantastic: legitimacy explodes, regulation reboots, new capital pours in. Yet, do not be expect the rules will remain the same. These are long-term companies. They may purchase Bitcoin to control it, sandbox it, perhaps even neuter its potential. Security and legitimacy? Maybe. Or perhaps a new variant of walled garden. Are we prepared to do that, or are we simply hungry for approval by the grown-ups in tech?
