Kyrie Irving is opting out of his player option to sign a three year deal with the Dallas Mavericks. This will give him some contract security and make him a home in Dallas for years to come. It also shows that they managed to lock him up for nearly 1/2 the price they were going to have to pay Luka. Seems like the days of NBA superstars might be coming to an end as business takes over. OKC showed you don’t need a superstar to win.
Talent wins. But of course it is also talent that creates stars. If a team does not have a star for a start, one will always rise. A star will always come out and make a name. OKC now has Shai. Jalen is also in the making. Even Holmgren shows he can be one. They are the big three that makes the team dominating.
But it hits different when a team creates stars rather than signs up one. It is more awesome to make originals than pirate existing stars. Chet and Jalen are OKC babies.
