Stop making it look scary, medicine is a good and honourable course, a course that is worth building your career if you have the passion for it.
As for being rich, well, that is not the direct case, it's about being successful per se, the two are dependent of the mindset, and surely, medicine will make you rich, no doubt, it has produced many millionares in this world, so the time and energy invested in it is worth it.
However, I don't see the risk you are referring to here, other than the natural risk attached to any facet of life. And I don't even expect anyone to think towards that side. Medicine paves the way for many opportunities all over the world, aside from the pay, so I don't see any risk that is not worth it here.
This is just a way to choose a good profession that will allow you to build a good career and earn a good income. But it definitely does not guarantee that you will become a successful and wealthy person, because it all depends on how you are able to manage your finances.
I don't know why some of you like to paint things outside of what it is.
That leads us to my question: Did you see any guarantee in my statement above? If nothing is perfect in this world, then nothing is guaranteed, and the most believed positive circumstance could end up negative, and the same thing goes for the situation that is thought 100% hopeless, it could still end up positive. So no one is preaching a guarantee here, but just talking about the brighter side of the medicine as a course, which, of course, is not hidden from you as well.
Also, your mismanagement and carelessness are your fault, and not the fault of the career. If anyone is careless and mismanages in any aspect of life, aside from medicine, will the person be successful? I wonder why you are adding all these.
