A bit of input:
Finally got this coin in my hands- What sets it apart for me is the very fine beehive/chainlink pattern behind Satoshi. I don't think I've seen a similar effect on physical bitcoin before. The face of the statue is also mirrored, like the real statue, while the rest is matte. there is also an extremely fine, small text "BITCOIN 2024 HALVING" on the bottom left which appears laser etched - I have not seen such small, fine text on the metal of any physical bitcoin. the backside appears standard, with the hologram appropriately branded and numbered. The case itself is tasteful, better than a mere airtite in my opinion yet easy to open if desired (there is a notch, its not 'sealed' so it can be opened without breaking it). Overall, I also like that he face of the coin has no branding and is fully dedicated to the art, symbolism, and message, with the brand "signature" being on the back with a hologram. Having no set denomination is a small departure from tradition though appropriate for self-funded, and overall I see this as an excellently made physical bitcoin that commemorates a worthy subject with a unique angle.

Now some personal notes:
I have been aware of this coin project for a long time, and did provide some feedback on the design. I know the creator personally, and can say that he is extremely passionate about this project and has poured much personal energy and resources into making this reality. I also visited Sunshine Mint in Las Vegas last year, where he and his son had an office from which they were working.

Luckily, one of the mint managers took me on a personal tour of the floor, letting me see pallets upon pallets (I estimated 50m worth) of 1,000 oz silver bullion bars. Seeing the various machines, and workers manning them pump out coins and bars, including for the royal Canadian Mint, was very cool. they also had a special room where they cut the dies, some of which took 36h+ to prepare. There was also a central safe in the middle, in which the dies for various coins were held. They explained how all the garbage the building is checked with metal detectors, and security was very tight as well - there's almost no way I could have removed a single ounce from the building.

Elias , you are not an expert in the space. Your word shouldn’t hold any merit. You are a shill and all you care about is money, ie payday. I decided not to help you with the “new” that never happened Encyclopedia years back because I could tell you were all business, not in a good way. So I passed. You’ve posted fake Casascius coins on your own website as authentic, your encyclopedia is littered with lies, misinformation (wrong mintages for ex and on and ..happy to share more). It’s clear the amount of fluff means you’re either okay with so many coins being shady or refused to have the balls to say things needed to be said.

I believe stacks, PCGS, maybe Heritage and others employ you to “authenticate”.  You’re not an expert and you’re going to fuck things up for not giving a shit what you “authentic”.  Mopar imo should replace you if he’s interested across the board. MJ isn’t interested anymore nor do I believe tweetious would be. Those are experts.

I hope enough read me seemingly being an asshole but I do know the space and it comes with good intentions because Elias isn’t who may of you think he is. Many know this to be the case but don’t prefer to share their opinions.  Many of you know this comes with nothing but pure intentions. I’m not as active in the space but I’ll never stop caring in many ways.
Cheers

Chi, respectfully. Get lost. - ELIAS put a lot of time, energy and I’m sure money into the book. You can point out his flaws/mistakes but he has added in a large and meaningful way to this community and hasn’t been known to be malicious whatsoever as you imply. - You obviously hold little respect or regard towards certain people due to your own biases and you’re idea to consolidate power to Mopar seems so you can continue to have your power trip

Slow your roll there Mr. wet behind the ear newbie to the space.  You know VERY little about any of this.  Elias gets his flowers for piecing together the book.  The heavy lifting was done by others though.  The book was a decent reference but had MANY errors.  The main issue is that Elias used to walk around conferences with his bright purple coat and his 2 "buddies" who followed him like puppies as if he knew everything.  He did not!  He even asked about a coin that was in his book at our booth in Vegas November 2018.  At that moment I lost all respect for his "expertise" in the space.

As far as authentication goes... ICG is the ONLY grading company with a dedicated authenticator. I retired from doing it for ICG a couple years ago.  minerjones took over.  I'm guessing that Mopar will be next in line for that post and rightfully so.  He is HIGHLY trusted and knows his coins.  He can also reach out to MJ or I should he have any questions.  I don't believe PCGS does any authentication or they won't say one way or another if they do.  I can't speak on what stacks protocol is.  I did speak with Sam at Heritage for quite some time recently.  They are in good hands and their protocols are getting better.  They have a dedicated crypto person now and they have the ability to reach out to me anytime if they are not sure about something. Plus, in my recent chats with Otoh, he has told me how easy Heritage has made things for him while trying to sell his collection efficiently.  I have a lot of respect for Otoh so his word holds a good amount of weight in my book.

Bottom line there Kaz, you are the one who needs to drink a glass of shut the hell up... this conversation is WELL above your pay grade.

You stifle creation when you attack creators' achievements, diminishing them to shine on those who have never even accomplished the same feat.

Not only do you stifle creation when you attack those who create good in the space, but you are also being disrespectful towards the community when you diminish honest achievements. Using it as a weapon to tear others down to raise yourself or others up—this behavior shouldn’t be merited.

I’m not saying don’t point out mistakes. I am saying to be respectful. Truly, there’s no need to tear Elias down and then prop up Mopar unless there is a deeper agenda.

You either wear a tin foil hat or you are an idiot.  I stated FACTS... nothing more.  You know exactly zero about accomplishments of others in this space.  Not everyone wants the attention like you do.  Not everyone wants to bask in their own greatness MR VIP COIN guy. Roll Eyes
