In this [Çurl=https://river.com/learn/files/river-bitcoin-adoption-report-2025.pdf?ref=blog.river.com]report[/url], only 3% of the world's population owns bitcoins. I'm not talking about companies and investment funds, of course. That's 240 million people as of 12/31/2024, some of them have only a few sats.

For comparison, Satoshi would have 4.6% of BTC and about 7.5% would be lost (estimate), a low estimate of 12% (while other estimates are around 28%).

With a population spread throughout the world and a permanent allocation with the amount of Bitcoin availability, only a handful of people might hold bitcoin at this time in great varied amounts.
If you make a comprehensive Bitcoin adoption calculation, it might be true but if you see the growth of Bitcoin itself for now much more so that we can make a fairly fair comparison for this problem.

Similarly, in my area and maybe almost most people already know Bitcoin but in terms of ownership may still be quite limited because not all of them dare to be involved in investment.
