Last season we saw Real Madrid's weak defense because several of their players were injured. Otherwise, Madrid's defense was very strong last season too. Madrid had talented and experienced defenders like Carvajal, Militao, David Alaba Rudiger and Mendy in their squad. Then due to injuries, Ancelotti was forced to play Tchouameni in the defense position.
They had an injury crisis that was big trouble for them but in fact Real Madrid managed to play well enough and went through the financial crisis very good. Later when their players returned, they began to have very bad performances in decisive weeks of season that made a bad ending for their club in both La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League.
To avoid similar injury crisis, Real Madrid must prepare better in this summer, from player resource, player transfers on the market to physical and health care for their players more carefully in order to make sure they will have as best fitness as possible for a new season.
However, Madrid does not want to take any risks this season. So the team has strengthened their defense further by adding Hujisen and Arnold to the squad. The new coach Xabi Alonso has already proven his talent. Now we are waiting to see if Alonso can succeed with Real Madrid. Alonso has got a perfect squad. He will also get enough support from the Madrid management to strengthen the squad. Even then, if Madrid's performance is weak, it will be considered a failure of Alonso.
Hujisen can help them improving defense system but Trent won't contribute too much for this system. It's because Trent is known as an attacking wing back and he is more likely an attacking player than a defender. His defensive skills are not good as shown in both Liverpool and English national team. Real Madrid truly knew about Trent's weakness and strength so they will not prioritize using him in defense system.
