Well, most people here on this forum, which is the original bitcoin forum, dated back to the beginning are all holders. A lot of them have long term goals, some bought bitcoins back in the days and till date still not touched even a dime. I don't think it was that easy considering the challenges that exist as an investor in crypto.
If they were consistent holders without selling, they would be billionaires by now but probably only a few because most of us started holding and accumulating bitcoins when the value was already growing. It doesn't seem easy because the twists and turns of the market process force some people to sell their bitcoins and now we only realize it when we don't sell them.

It really makes me wonder, with so many new quick gain cryptocurrency, can today's investors develop the same strong resolve as the early Bitcoin OGs? I doubt that. But they should know that bitcoin is the future currency, and we see how many countries are now accepting bitcoin. For long even the government disliked the idea of decentralisation, but I guess they have shifted their mind set today and want to embrace it.
There are many opposing assumptions and maybe people consider it normal under certain conditions and some people think they can make money quickly on any coin that is considered to have potential but no one can guarantee certainty steps like bitcoin. That is why we see some people trying to promote certain coins and others opposing. If you want to look safe and have more certainty then bitcoin is a much better asset to prioritize because we can see the process that has occurred until now about the advantages of bitcoin itself.
