As far as I know, Tottenham is also interested in Mbeumo, but it seems they are not making a higher offer than Man United, so in this case, Man United has a better chance to sign Bryan Mbeumo. Brentford have set their price, and Man United look set to meet it, so if Brentford are willing to ask for a higher price again and again, then it is likely that Man United will step down.

If Bryan Mbeumo does join Man United, then he will soon meet up with his compatriot (Andre Onana), and I think Andre Onana may have played a part in Mbeumo joining Man United.
Tottenham need to strengthen the team very well because they have a very busy season ahead and so far I do not see any activity from them on the transfer market. By the way I can say the same about Manchester United. Amorim must realise that if the team does not start winning he can very quickly lose his place as head coach. Maybe he is trying to change something inside the team which would be easier than changing half of the squad and I doubt he will be given money for that.
Manchester United and Tottenham were ranked very poorly in the Premier League last year. They also failed in the transfer season by spending too much money the season before that. The players who came were not good and could not adapt to the team. Manchester United clearly signed the wrong players. That is why they cannot transfer many players this year. However, they have to act as soon as possible. Tottenham, who will be in the Champions League, should now be able to buy players. It is obvious from last year's ranking that last year's squad was problematic.
