Some people still think that modern football is not all about money, look at just one season of Manchester City were they were very bad, infact last season was their worst season in over a decade, but take a look at what they've done in the transfer market from January this year to present and they are not yet done in the transfer window. Manchester City are coming stronger next season, that a sign of a serious team in my own opinion.
Football is business and no business flourishes without money. So it does not make sense when people tries to disconnect money from football. Football cannot be only passion without money. For you to enjoy football to its apex as a footballer or a coach or even a fan, you must balance the passion with money.
Some years back, Manchester City was just an average team in England. But when they management changed and a lot of money was pumped into the club, it became the best club in England.
Also Newcastle United has struggled for sometime in England, but when money entered they are now playing European football.
