I don't believe that Chelsea fans were hoping to win the title this past season because they lack the quality to achieve it. Chelsea won the Conference Cup competition which I feel is what they deserve and nothing more. If Chelsea feels that they gat the squad to win the EPL title, let them prove it to us next season.
There are other strong clubs who hasn't faced any challenges for a while now, those clubs are the ones that are capable of winning the title because the players have been playing together for quite some years now.
What are the challenges encounter by Chelsea? First they lacked every mentality to forward themselves in the EPL next season. Enzo Maresca will only try his best but I don't think it's going to be good enough. The Blues will not face any expectations next season not when Todd Boehly is busy signing average young players that are still growing in qualities. An elite club that's optimistic towards winning major trophies wouldn't relent, they will sealed every chance to excel and prove to their oppositions that they're good enough for any major tournament. Chelsea supporters will keep craving for a win but they won't find one because there have been inconsistent performance and standards of the club.
