I knew something was off about some of these teams performances...in short the bad results could be a protest result just like it's done by players to get a coach sacked by playing below par and losing games...so these players didn't even want to play in the first place as they wanted to enjoy their holiday's and it's a valid point!
Going forward if you putting money where your mouth is, go for the goals not results of who is going to win etc.

Obviously there may be some players who wanted to be on vacation, but the vast majority are happy to be able to play in simply the biggest club competition so far
I don't think it's a valid excuse to say that European clubs didn't want to play in the competition.
I'm thinking of placing two bets today, on Palmeiras and Chelsea qualifying (not victory, onnly classification)
Although I'm rooting for Benfica, I'd like to see a Portuguese club go further in the competition
Now in the knockout stage some teams can raise their game and play better
