Since the only way to win in sports betting, according to those who claim to be successful is to treat it like investing, I think that idea actually makes sense. So for our fellow sports bettors here, I’d like to throw this question based on your personal understanding:
How do you turn sports betting into something like investing?
What mindset or approach do you use to treat it seriously, like you're managing a portfolio?
This is a new thought for me, not knowing how to change the thought of sports betting into an investment.
Both are expecting profit, and also need analysis before making a decision, but there are still differences, for example it is impossible for someone to suggest sports betting and say it is the same as investment, also you can sell your investment when you see it is not going well, while sports betting when it is not going well means you lose money.
It's quite hard to describe more because it looks the same but to me it's still different.
I have the same thought in this regard, although one can use investment strategies and approaches to gambling, the results will never be the same, because gambling is very dependent on luck. However, this step is good enough to be applied, because it can minimize the risk of loss, and help increase the chances of making a profit.
I think this idea is not new, in the past people tried to find a correlation between trading and gambling, and looked for similarities and differences. I think there is a slight similarity in terms of, where someone tries to treat gambling like an investment. The goal remains the same, both of them are aimed at making a profit.
