It's really funny how they think and reason at the same time. It really baffles me how they think Real Madrid and Barcelona are in the same level, it's just that Barcelona is the second biggest team in Spanish football and a rival to them. Just last season that Barcelona won them 4 consecutive times is what is making them feel on top of the world. They forgot that the season before, Real Madrid won three consecutive times. Won them to win the Spanish Super cup just as they won Real Madrid this season.
History still records Real Madrid as the most successful club in La Liga with 36 La Liga titles, while Barcelona is in second place with 28 titles including last season. Real Madrid was successful before 2000, but if you look at it since 2000, they are no longer stronger than Barcelona in terms of titles. Barcelona has won 13 titles starting from the 2003-2004 season until last season, while Real Madrid only won 9 titles since 2000-2001.
The title race for the last 24 seasons was won by Barcelona, but the two teams are only 4 titles apart. Barcelona did not dominate even though they were 4 titles ahead of Madrid, even though Real Madrid had to admit their weakness based on their achievement data in the last 24 La Liga seasons. Real Madrid are the best in La Liga because of their past history, but not for the last 24 seasons.
