I used to be avid video gamer just a few years back, but nowadays video games have lost their charm over me and every time I try to get myself back to games, I automatically find myself arguing why shouldn't I put same effort into improving myself irl.

Can't know for sure but but there is this concept of rebirth in religions which we could say is as good as another life.
