Are you aware of the psychological aspect of how bettors choose between over or under? For starters, over/under bets is a type of sports betting where bettors try to predict whether a combined number of score of both teams is over or under a predetermined value. It is observed that beginners tend to bet on the over side. Why? Because over means excitement.
Over means the bettor is anticipating a lot of action and this is how bookmakers get to them. If you have been watching and betting for a long time however, you may be able to objective and exercise restraint and not be overly excited over a match and only bet on the under side. Anyway, under is not always the correct answer as it really depends on the match, the teams, the gameplay and many other factors but most beginners end up getting too excited and betting mostly on over without proper analysation.
I can't deny it completely but I look for reasonable score with reasonable odds. I almost always don't go less than 2 odds on over under. The reason why I bet mostly on over but not under is it's easier to analyze and predict which teams are scoring more. Overly defensive teams are easy to find as well but it also depends on how their opponent it. But when two aggressive team meets, they don't care much about defense but would look for scoring which increases the overall goals.
Similar are over under in cricket but in cricket, pitch nature and condition too play a vital role. Focusing solely on over under too is not a good strategy. Gamblers should only go with it if they think the odds are better than it should be for specific matches. These odds mostly seem to be related to other match results on same tournament or league.
